When the University of Minnesota Alumni Association (UMAA) approached us to encapsulate 120 years of legacy, we knew the story needed to function on three levels: archive-truth, alumni pride, and future momentum. We began with a deep archival dive, including UMAA’s founding in 1904 and its century-plus evolution.
From those historical roots we developed a refined mini-brand narrative. We distilled decades of institutional impact into a coherent visual and verbal identity that speaks to alumni, community stakeholders, and the next generation of graduates. Our focus was on connecting heritage to relevance: showing how alumni have shaped the University and how UMAA continues to empower community and global impact.
